Investment Direction

Use the Investment Direction option to enter the investment allocation for a plan's participant. Once you have selected the funds, you will be able to enter the corresponding percentages.

How to Access the Investment Direction Window

On the Setup menu, point to Participant and then click Investment Direction. The Investment Direction window displays.

How to Specify the Investment Direction for a Participant

1.   Select the Plan.

2.   Select the participant by typing the Participant ID or select a participant from the Participant Search list.

3.   Select the IPX Product.

4.   Enter the Effective date.

5.   Select the Allocation Type from the list. The basic allocation type is SYSDEF, which is the system default. When allocations are applied to SYSDEF, the investment allocation percentages are applied to ALL contribution sources - defined on the contribution sequence screen. Separate investment allocations may be applied to specific sources. For example, if the plan has 4 sources (ie. pretax, match, profit sharing and rollover), each source can have a different investment fund allocation applied to it.

6.   Click the Funds tab.

7.   Select the funds you want to use in the allocation process.

8.   Click Process Selections.

9.   Click the Allocations tab. The funds will now appear in the Fund Description list.

10.Enter the desired Percentages for each fund. The total percentage must equal 100.

11.When you are done, click the Save icon.

The fund name appears as defined in the Setup>Funds>Fund option.

Enter the percentage allocated to this fund for the selected contribution type.

Displays the current allocation percentages for the selected contribution type.
