Subtypes

Use the Subtypes option to enter universal subtypes that can be used when processing transactions. These subtypes appear on transaction windows in the Subtype list.

How to Access this Option

On the Setup menu, point to System, and then click Subtypes. The Sub type Maintenance window displays.

How to Create a Subtype

1.   Click the  icon.

2.   Enter a Code to identify the subtype.

3.   Create a detailed Description of the subtype.

4.   Enter the TSM-assigned Transaction code.  For example, WITH for Withdrawal.

5.   Enter the Reason for the subtype.

6.   Enter the Request description for the subtype.

7.   Indicate the Payout Type.

8.   Select the IRS Reporting Required check box, if applicable.

9.   Select the Transaction Type from the list: Deposit, Withdrawal or Transfer.

10.Select the Payee Record check box, if applicable.

11.Select the Tax Record check box, if applicable.

12.When you are done, click the  icon. The following message displays:

Your changes were saved successfully.

Click OK.

How to Delete a Subtype

1.   Highlight the subtype record you want to delete.

2.   Click the  icon. The following message displays:

Are you sure you want to delete this record?

Click Yes to delete it or No to retain it.

3.   Click the  icon to confirm the deletion. The following message displays:

Your changes were saved successfully.

Click OK.

4.   When you are done, click the  icon.

5.   If you are deleting more than one subtype, repeat steps 1 and 2 for each. When you are done, proceed to steps 3 and 4.

How to Edit a Subtype

1.   Position the cursor in the field you want to change.

2.   Click in the field with the right mouse button or press the Delete button on your keyboard.

3.   Enter the new text.

4.   When you are done, click the  icon. The following message displays:

Your changes were saved successfully.

Click OK.

5.   When you are done, click the  icon.

6.   If you are editing more than one subtype, repeat steps 1-3 for each. When you are done, proceed to steps 4 and 5.

Select the check box if these transactions must be reported to the IRS. The default is not required.

Transaction Type

Select the transaction type from the list. The options are Deposit, Transfer, and Withdrawal.

Payee Record

Select the check box if the transaction should indicate the payee.

Optional

Tax Record

Select the check box if this is a taxable transaction.
